Intel Working on New Chip Technology

It seems that Intel has a new toy. 45 nanometer technology. (thats 45 billionths of a meter for those who don’t speak ‘nano’) That’s how wide the circuit paths will be in their new chip. They’re also going to be putting a memory controller on the same bit of silicon as the CPU instead of on a separate chip like they’ve done, well, forever.
Of course, they don’t want us to realize that AMD has been doing this for a long time, using the on CPU memory controller to handle accessing and managing the main memory.
By the way, If you use the link above to read the story be warned, it’s on canada.com and that thing took over 5 minutes to load on my 768/256 adsl. It also wanted to set a bucket load of cookies.
