Election Time in Cambodia Means “NO Text Messages”

Cambodia has elections coming up and their government has pulled a really bone headed move. With the excuse of keeping people from being inundated with political messages, they want to block ALL text messages this Saturday and Sunday until after the polls close.
What’s worse is that they’ve gotten all three major carriers in Cambodia to go along with this hair-brained, freedom of speech robbing scheme.
They desperately need to learn that preventing or interfering with the ability of ordinary people to communicate is NOT the way to do things in a free society. If they think it is, then their society is not as free as they’d like us to think then is it?
