Micro$oft’s ‘Men in Black’ kill Florida open standards legislation

Well, dispite all that Micro$oft might claim about their being interested in making things easier for users, they’ve once again proved that it just ain’t so.
Seems that some legislation in florida had some language in it advocating open data formats. Before you can say “Greedy Monopolistic Corporation”, three lobbyists from Micro$oft show up objecting to that part of the bill.
They pretty much threatened that anyone voting against the software giant’s interests would have a harder time raising campaign funds.
Now I ask you… wouldn’t it be really cool if stories like this were to show up on ABC World News Tonight, CNN, FoxNews etc.?
I don’t suppose I’ll be holding my breath waiting.
