changing blog software

I wonder, how many have changed blogging software on an active blog?
For example, I have another blog that's based on thingamablog. How much of a PITA would it be to get all of the TAMB content moved into a wordpress database?
Thingamablog is cool, but there are downsides to it, such as when it decides to republish the entire blog... including every entry.. at a minimum of once a month.
It doesn't take long for the database to become large enough to be a problem
