Microsoft DRM Cracked Again!

It had to happen sooner or later, Micro$oft DRM system has been cracked again. A new version of “FairUse4M” has been released. This little gem makes it possible to remove the DRM (Digital Rights Management) locking from protected digital music and movies so that they can be copied, converted to other formats, shared, Etc.
This is not the first time Micro$oft has had to face their DRM being cracked like this. They even went so far as to file a federal lawsuit against the program’s anonymous authors. However the authors must have been knowledgeable about anonymity ( and careful!), because M$ was never able to identify them and had to drop the lawsuit.
I know, it won’t be more than six months to a year before M$ fixes their DRM system again. But as soon as they do there will be dedicated hackers working on cracking it. Eventually the industry and maybe even M$ will realize that DRM-Free is the way to go. I’m not a fan of Steve Jobs, but he is absolutely right in calling for an end to DRM in music and movies.
Of course, the article in question didn’t give a url for “FairUse4M” and that’s too bad because I’d be interested in learning more about it (strictly for educational purposes out of curiousity), but I’m sure it’s going to turn up all over the place before too long.

Why do you replace S with $ in Micro$oft?
It’s a sort of shot at M$ for being and or looking like they are more concerned with money than anything else. I’d just as happily do the same with any other company for the same reasons.
For example “Wal Mart” if it had an ‘S’ in it.. and for that matter, I could use the ‘$’ the way they use the star or dash between the words… “Wal$Mart”. Or maybe I could just say “Wal Fart” and leave it at that. *cackle*
