Here’s something wierd. I just saw a story about how Google is offering to run the search engines of small sites for $100 a year. Wait just a minute, I thought they already did.

I’m talking about their Adsense program and the “Adsense for search” part of the program. There’s a part of the Adsense control panel that allows you to set up an Adsense enabled search widget. It gives you the code and you paste it into your web page where you want it to appear and you’ve got an instant site search tool.

Why in the world would anyone pay $100 a year for something like this when they can get it for free as part of an Adsense account? Or is Google planning to shut down all those Adsense for search snippets they’ve handed out? Nah, surely they’re not that stupid. I can imagine the furor it would cause when millions of webmaster found out that their Adsense for Search code had stopped working… and the visitors, all of a sudden their searches for truck accessories and Blender parts freeze up cold and stop delivering results.

I sure hope this has nothing to do with changing adsense the fact is that adsense for Google is a huge money maker so i would not think they would mess with there formula.

    At least i hope not.

    :(
