Ever been at home and need access to your work pc? How about being away from home and you need a file or email that you’ve got on your home machine? There are several solutions that people have used to deal with this. Things like VPN setups that are more than most home users need and in the case of a company situation require the system admin to setup and maintain. There’s also a Micro$oft remote desktop solution but it requires a static (unchanging) IP address. Both of those options are costly and can be involved to set up and use. RemotePC is a solution that makes remote access a lot easier.

You download and install one program on the machine you want to have access to, and a second program that you install on the machine you’re going to access from, check a few settings on the host machine and you’re in business. It’s even got an option that allows remote access from any computer that doesn’t require you to install something. All you need is an internet connection and a web browser. As long as you use good passphrases and exercise care with things like not leaving sessions unattended

This thing doesn’t work for me because my pc at work has a firewall and they don’t allow remote access. :(
