Are You Ready For A Throwdown?

I guess I need to explain that. Something over a year ago I discovered the Food Network and have spent a fair amount of time watching it. One of the shows on there is “Throwdown with Bobby Flay”.
Bobby Flay is an accomplished chef, owns three or four restaurants, is one of the stars of “Iron Chef America” with a very good win / loss record. He’s got a pretty high visibility on Food Network, serving as one of the judges in several episodes of “The Next Food Network Star” and so on.
What’s the throwdown about? He challenges people to a contest to see who can do that chef’s signature dish better. He’s lost most of the challenges, but that’s ok because the people eating at the event are the real winners.
I’ll say that I’ve learned a few things watching Food Network but no, I’m not ready for a throwdown just yet. Maybe in a few years after I have a new kitchen and something like a full set of berndes cookware and a LOT of time to practice all manner of things.
