Nasa Considering Shuttle Repair Options

With the shuttle now on an extended mission, NASA is going over their options, deciding if they think the situation warrants risking an in-orbit heat shield repair.
Personally I can't see why they'd want to risk it. I realise that one of the NASA people said that this "isn't a Columbia-class problem" but make no mistake, it's still very serious.
