The whole thing about unlocking Iphones has taken another turn. Apparently unable to do anything about people choosing to hack their Iphone to unlock it from AT&T, Apple & co are taking aim at anyone who might be thinking about going into business unlocking Iphones. I’d say that Apple may be able to stop this kind of thing for a while, but eventually it’s going to be a simple matter for an Iphone owner to find somebody who will hack the thing loose from AT&T.
Meanwhile, George Hotz, the guy who came up with the hack was going to sell his hacked phone on ebay but couldn’t because of phony bids running the price up to $100 million (who thinks Apple was up to it’s eyeballs in that?). He did end up with a pretty good deal. He traded it for a Nissan 350z and three new Iphones.
