Once again Google is on the rampage. You can tell by watching the pagerank of sites you visit. sites all over the net are suddenly showing up with a zero pagerank.. dropping from as high as four or five all the way to zero. It’s hitting some sites hard enough to make you feel like you’ve been hit over the head with a drug rehab center… especially if making money on your blog is partly dependent on your pagerank.

Google Goes after the Everyday Blogger pretty much tells the story. Google is taking their pagerank and using it as a weapon.. a form of censorship. If they don’t like something you do, or if OMG you have the unmitigated gall to earn money from something besides their blasted Adsense (BTW, I have tried using Adsense and It’s hardly been worth the time it took to install the code. I don’t see what the big draw is.), then they’ll spank that site with a zero pagerank which will (I presume), hurt that site’s standing in their index..

Obviously, the answer is for advertisers to stop giving so much weight to pagerank and look at real information like link popularity, SERPS, traffic, Etc.

Oh, by the way, Since this latest round of “Google Spanking” started knocking sites everywhere to zero rank, Google’s stock has been falling like a rock all day long. I hope it falls far enough to convince them to lay off of this pagerank nonsense.
