LED's For Christmas

Welcome back!

This time of year you kinda expect to see lots of marketing and new product releases going on but once in a while you see one of them that you just have to agree is a good idea. One of them that's getting a lot of attention this year is Christmas lights. Specifically the move away from the old style incandescent light bulbs toward LED Christmas lights instead.

It's simple really, take a look at the disadvantages of incandescent bulbs:

They use quite a bit of power
They get HOT to the touch
Because they get hot, not only have countless people been burned, but a lot of fires have ruined Christmas for people when their Christmas lights caused a fire.
They don't last more than about 2,000 hours each.
Fragile, easily broken.

Now take a look at LED Christmas lights

Use one tenth of the power
They DON'T get hot, running only 1 degree above the ambient temperature
Since the run so much cooler, they're not the fire hazard incandescents are.
Very durable, made of epoxy plastic that can take a lot of punishment.
Long lasting.... they're good for more than FIFTY THOUSAND HOURS.

'Nuff said.
