You know those really cool digital picture frames? Well, along with some other digital devices that connect via USB to Windows computers there’s been a lot of them found to be infected with a powerful trojan from China.

This little bugger is advanced enough that anti-malware software has not caught up with it yet. The article I read about it says that it’s turned up in digital picture frames that were sold at Sam’s Club, Target, Best Buy and Costco.

This is one of those cases that even fully updated anti-virus software and a properly configured firewall wont necessarily stop this thing until they work out how to detect and stop it and update their software. That means that before you plug that new picture frame into your computer you might want to do some checking to find out if it might be infected. Carelessness here can be just like living in a bad neighborhood without home insurance and leaving your doors open when you leave home. You never know what might be waiting for you.
