Mozilla Making Progress on Firefox 3

Welcome back!

It seems that the work on Firefox 3 is moving along nicely with the recent release of the "Beta 4" version. According to the release notes there's a lot of new features going in and there's been tons of fixes. Thing is, I took a look at FF3 a couple of Beta's ago and I came to a conclusion. I'm not going to run right out and switch to it anytime soon. Even once they take it out of beta and do an official release I'm going to wait a while before I call the web browser version of a New York Moving Company and haul myself over to FF3.

I'm going to do the same thing with it that I did with FF2.... Wait. When FF2 came out I stuck with 1.5 and then 1.7x for quite a while waiting for all most of the bugs to get worked out of it before making the change. Another reason I'm going to wait is because I want all of my browser plugins that I'm using now to work in the new version. I don't want to lose functionality just to get a new version number and some bells and whistles that I haven't even decided I need.

Just like vista, I’m going to wait a while and let everyone else get the bugs out of it.

I agree, letting others get the bugs out of something is better than jumping on a new version the second it gets released.

Yeah, I am looking forward to it too but until all my plug-ins will work I can not make the switch. A few people at the office have been beta testing it though and it is pretty impressive.

What I’d like to know now is what’s the progress on the plugins? I’ve a halfway long-ish list of them that I am not going to do without.
