Stephen Hawking Says Alien Life Is Probably Primitive

It’s one of those ideas that makes you think. If *WE* are the high end of intelligent life in the universe then the universe could well be in serious trouble. Stephen Hawking expressed the idea during a lecture at George Washington University recently.
The thought that we could someday encounter an unsuspecting race that is not as advanced as we are? Imagine if they were able to receive our television and radio signals… The poor sots could end up rearranging their entire society based on the need to find a good psoriasis treatment or the best deodorants… worse yet, they could become a world full of politicians and lawyers.
Honestly though, I think that Hawking is half right. There’s very likely plenty of life out there. I just think that it’s entirely reasonable to assume that a fair percentage of it will be more advanced if not more intelligent, the two are not necessarily the same thing. In any event, we still have to keep from blowing ourselves up long enough to develop warp drive so that we can go look around in person.

Yes I too read that unintelligent life might be somewhere in other planets. There was a prediction at the start of this millennium that during this century, we may confront with other forms of life that are alien to the earth.
