According to the Information Security Research Team (INSERT), Gmail has a critical flaw in it’s system that allows spammers to use a Man In The Middle attack that allows them to use Gmail’s SMTP servers to send spam while remaining all but undetectable.

This is just the latest in a long line of Google products that are turning out to have critical problems with them. I for one didn’t need to pack any travel supplies to get to the place where I could believe it because frankly, Google’s big problem is that they’re getting into entirely too much at once.

Right now, I can’t help thinking that they need to pause for a while and get their current stuffs under control and into decent shape before they decide to go off on some “grand adventure” in their quest to become the next Microsoft.

Oh, What makes this Gmail-As-A-Spam-Sending-Open-Relay thing even more special is the fact that there’s a lot of mail systems that ‘trust’ Gmail and therefore don’t make any effort to stop spam that originates from it.

So Google needs to get Gmail under control and fast. Then there’s a few other things they need to work on.
