Microsoft Paying People To Search

That’s right. Micro$oft is now showing how desperate they are in their war with Google.
They’re actually paying people to search in the form of a “cashback service” that gives users discounts of from 2% to 30% on products purchased as a result of doing the search through it’s “Live Search” service.
Frankly, I think that if they’ve got to go to that kind of extreme to get people to use their service then they really need to step back and ask themselves WHY?
The reason people choose to use a particular search engine is easy to figure out. If it gets results, they’ll come back for more. Microsoft’s “Live Search” is, in my opinion, clunky and not very useful in the relevant results department. They’d be better off concentrating on giving users good, solid relevant results for their search queries instead of trying to bribe people to use it.
