WP Remix is the first WordPress theme that I would actually consider paying for. Those that know me can tell you that a statement like that coming from me means a lot. I’m a tried and true cheapskate from way back with no intention to change. I’ve always preferred to do something for free anytime I have the chance. The only way I ever consider spending money on something is if it gives me more value, flexibility and / or function than the free versions.
In the “About bloody time” department, I ran into a piece on slashdot that gave the good news. The RIAA has finally backed down and dismissed the case in Atlantic Recording v. Brennan.
Whether you’re just putting up a “this is my world” personal page, hosting a blog, or anything from a simple single product sales page to a full out online store with the shopping cart, product information and reviews, newsletters and everything else, the one thing you’re going to need is a web hosting service to provide space for it to all live on.
This seems to me like it *should* be a fairly simple thing but I’ve been fighting with it all freaking day and still haven’t found anything that works. I’ve got a page that sells a product with Paypal as the payment processor. Making the “Buy Now” button at Paypal merchant services is easy enough, I even remembered to input the success url that the customer needs to go to after payment is taken care of.
Not long ago I posted about how I’d had it with Windows and the way it’s buggyness cost me a mountain of files and ended up inspiring me to go Microsoft free in a move to Ubuntu linux. I discovered that making a move like that mostly out of anger and frustration, with almost no advance preparation, was not the way I should have migrated from one OS to another.
