Welcome back!Ok, this one doesn’t make sense to me. Dell is working a deal to sell their machines at wally world and they’ve also been talking about offering some models with Linux pre-installed instead of windows.
Just these two things by themselves should have Dell doing enough better that they shouldn’t need to laying off [...]

I just saw an AP news story on iwon.com that talked about Dell’s recent decision to once again give people the option of getting XP instead of Vista. The article said that they did this because on Dell’s Ideastorm site, the “Don’t eliminate XP just yet” idea racked up over 10,000 votes.
That’s all fine [...]

I just noticed (ok, this is a tad old, but still worth mentioning) that after 22 months of development since ‘Sarge’ was released as Debian GNU/Linus 3.0, Debian has finally declared ‘Etch’ stable and released it as Debian GNU/Linux 4.0.
Trivia question: what do the codenames of Debian GNU/Linux have in common?

… for a live-cd of debian etch. Beginning to think nobody’s going to bother doing one. Too bad, it would be at least a halfa**ed way to do a dual boot. I may end up breaking down and trying Ubuntu instead.

I know there’s a so-called ‘Live-CD’ available for several distributions of linux, but is there perhaps one available for Debian? Im particularly interested in one for Debian Etch.
Does it (or will it) exist?

I just saw something on Slashdot that gives a little hope that the world need not be forever Windoze powered. Somebody posted a link to a Dell website that is concentrating on finding out what users want.
The most popular item on the list is “Pre-Installed Linux | Ubuntu | Fedora | OpenSUSE | Multi-Boot” [...]
