A Non-Profit HMO Site

If somebody had told me about it I don’t know if I would have believed them very easily. I admit that I don’t know a whole lot about insurance but I do know that it’s a huge, monstrously big business so the idea of a non profit HMO was something of a surprise to me.

So, You’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and get an actual domain for that website or blog that you’ve been running on a subdomain since forever. The biggest problem you’ve got now is that all of a sudden those inbound links you’ve been working your arse off to get are going to stop working.

Dymo’s Tips

I remember back when the dinosaurs still roamed the Earth (ok, maybe it wasn’t *quite* that long ago) when the Dymo label maker first showed up in stores. Is Hushmail Still Safe

There’s been a fair amount of talk lately about Hushmail and whether it’s still “safe” to use. This has apparently originated with a post on cyptome that cast some doubt on the .jar file for the applet that they use. This was later corrected, apparently somebody compared the wrong files.

Cuil Looks Cool

In spite of the fact that Google, Yahoo, Ask, Microsoft and a dozen or so others pretty much have the search engine market locked up there are still new sites popping up all the time. One of the youngest of these is “Cuil” {pronounced “Cool” }, in Internet terms it’s not even teenage yet.

Which Host is Best?

That’s a question that has to be answered by anyone that’s planning to create a website. Yes, there’s a bunch of “free” hosting solutions out there and that’s fine if you’re just talking about a personal page you’re building about you’re pet robot collection. If on the other hand you’re talking about a website, forum, blog or whatever that needs to be reliable, fast and responsive then that’s another matter.

Trimming The Fat: Improving Blog Performance

 Powered by Max Banner Ads
One of the things that I’ve seen on a lot of blogs is that it’s entirely too easy for things to get so loaded down with unneeded or unused stuff that ends up serving only to make the blog load slower. Slower loading blogs are a lot less likely to [...]
